Este juego de accion y rol (RPG) ha sido desarrollado por inXile, empresa fundada por el veterano del sector Brian Fargo, el creador de The Bard´s Tale original. El acuerdo permite a Ubisoft una distribucion exclusiva en casi todo el territorio europeo para las versiones de PlayStation®2, Xbox® y PC.

Ambientado en la epoca medieval, el jugador se pone en el papel de Bard, un sarcastico y egocentrico masico. A medida que interactua con los demas personajes en el juego, el jugador podras elegir si Bard utiliza dia¡logos ´desagradables´ o ´correctos´, que tendran consecuencias directas en los acontecimientos posteriores. El famoso actor de cine y television Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights) pondran la voz a la version inglesa.

Aunque el humor es una de las caracteri­sticas clave de The Bard´s Tale, se ha prestado una gran atencion al argumento. Desarrollado con el motor de los estudios Snowblind que ha sido utilizado para Champions of Norrathy Baldur´s Gate: Dark Alliance el juego emplea la popular vista area que se beneficia de los excelentes graficos y sonidos. Los jugadores no solo podran disfrutar de las tradicionales armas magicas y no magicas para superar sus aventuras, sino que tambien podran convocar a una gran variedad de criaturas utilizando la musica.
