Marshland
Pampas are so flat that you can drive 100 km inland and you will be only at 40 m above sea level. Thus, water from rains move laizily, and temporary floodings are not inusual. Average rainfall is 25 inches per year with no marked wet or dry season.

Extension of marshland and swamps is directly related with the amount of rainfall. Permanent water bodies can show dense reedbeds and other acquatic vegtation. Water habitats and its vicinity are very rich in waterfowl, herons, and other birds. Roadside ditches are usually good spots for waterfowl.

Great and Snowy Egret, Maguari Stork, Olivaceous Cormorant, White Faced and Bare Faced Ibises, Roseate Spoonbill, Limpkin, White Winged, Red Gartered and Red Fronted Coots, Rosy Billed Pochard, Silver Teal, Yellow-billed Pintail, Wren-like Rushbird, Yellow winged Blackbird, Brown and Yellow Marshbird
